WOMEN’S GOLF BALLINA

Ballina Golf Club has a strong contingent of female players who are able to
play competition golf five days a week.

Our Mid week women’s only competitions, which are conducted Tuesdays
and Thursdays mornings between early February and mid December, are
our main events and regularly attract upwards of 80 players on a Tuesday
and 60+ on a Thursday.

In addition, women play in the medley comp. every Friday and those who
join as 7 day players are also eligible to play in a women’s comp. every
Saturday.

A recent addition to the program is the opportunity for women to play in
the Men’s Veterans events on Mondays. Visitors on all these days are most
welcome.

For those players daunted by 18 holes, we have a keen group of nine
holers who hit off after the 18 holers on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This
provides new or inexperienced players with the opportunity to play in a
relaxed environment while learning the etiquette and basics of the game.
See below for more detail.

We provide a varied program of events on Tuesdays and Thursdays,
including a Monthly Medal (stroke), stablefords, pars, 4balls, team
competitions, Single and Fourball Matchplay knockouts as well as the
important honour board events: Club Championships, Foursomes
Championship and Mixed Foursomes (played on weekends).

We also have a number of ongoing events during the year such as eclectics
and stableford challenge pointscores, and our committed Veterans
Committee conduct a range of activities in addition to those already
mentioned.

So, there is something for everyone at Ballina Golf Club: it is a friendly,
sociable environment and we always welcome new players.
