Women’s Golf

Ballina Golf Club has a strong contingent of female players who are able to
play competition golf five days a week.

Our Midweek women’s only competitions, are conducted Tuesday
mornings between early February and mid-December. 
Tuesday competitions normally attract over 90 players.

In addition, women can play in the medley competition every Monday, Thursday and Friday and those who
join as Select or Lifestyle are eligible for the Women’s Saturday competition.

We also have a keen group of nine-holers who hit off Tuesdays and Thursdays from midday. This
provides new or inexperienced players with the opportunity to play in a
relaxed environment while learning the etiquette and basics of the game.

We provide a varied program of events on Tuesdays and Thursdays,
including a Monthly Medal (stroke), Stableford, pars, 4balls, team
competitions, Single and Fourball Matchplay knockouts as well as the
important honour board events: Club Championships, Foursomes
Championship and Mixed Foursomes (played on weekends).

We also have a number of ongoing events during the year such as eclectics
and Stableford challenge point scores, and our committed Veterans
Committee conducts a range of activities in addition to those already
mentioned.

So, there is something for everyone at Ballina Golf Club: it is a friendly,
sociable environment and we always welcome new players.

COMPETITION SCHEDULE
Women’s Only Events including Stableford, Stroke, 4BBB, Vs Par, Ambrose
Tuesdays : Two Tees : 8.00 a.m. – 10.00 a.m.
Thursdays: One Tee : 8.00 a.m. – 10.00 a.m.
Men and Women’s Events
Friday : One Tee : 7.00 a.m. – 12.45 a.m.
Saturday: Two Tees : 7.00 a.m – 8.30 a.m. and 10.30 a.m. – 12.30 a.m.

WOMEN’S 9 HOLE GOLF
“Special” membership category is available for ladies who only wish to play
in 9 hole competitions, played Tuesday and Thursday afternoons after 12
noon. Players meet in barbecue area at rear of Pro Shop at 12 noon. This is
not a coaching group, and prospective members must have some
knowledge of the game, and have had some tuition. Assistance is give with
rules and course etiquette. Rules are the same as for all golf competitions.
In addition to Membership fee to join Ballina Golf Club, an annual joining
fee and a competition fee are payable. These fees are paid to the 9-hole
starter. Green fees are payable to the Pro shop.

For all Special members, a handicap is calculated after 3 cards have been
submitted. This is Club Handicap only, and cannot be used when playing at
other courses. Players must be financial playing members before submitting
cards for a handicap. Handicaps are managed by the 9-hole
committee.

Any player who has an 18-hole handicap is welcome to join, and will play
on half of her 18-hole handicap. Any player who has a 9-hole handicap can
transfer to 6/7 day membership, and membership fees adjusted
accordingly.

WOMEN’S VETERAN GOLF BALLINA

The Veteran Women Golfer’s Association of NSW Inc. is a voluntary organisation formed in 1950.
The VWGA became incorporated in November 1995. Women golfers 50 years and over are eligible
to be members by paying an initial joining fee and an annual subscription each year.
