How the New Format Works
Qualifying & Seeding
After the third round of qualifying, the top 32 players will advance to the main event.
These 32 players will be placed into 8 groups of four, following a seeded draw based on handicap—similar to the FIFA World Cup.
Group Stage (Matchplay Round‑Robin)
Within each group, every player will play matchplay against the other three players.
Scoring System
- Win: 1 point
- Squared Match (Tie): 0.5 points
- Loss: 0 points
Countback
If players are tied on points, positions will be determined by:
- Fewest holes played in their winning matches
(i.e., winning more convincingly earns the advantage)
Advancement
Only the top player from each group progresses to the knockout stage.
Knockout Stages
The eight group winners advance to a straight‑elimination finals series:
Quarter Finals
8 players → 4 winners
Semi Finals
4 players → 2 winners
Final
The winners of the semi finals play for the Championship.
3rd‑Place Playoff
The two semi‑final losers will play each other to determine third place.
