It is with deep sadness that we inform members of the passing of Don Stephen, a cherished Life Member of our club, who passed away on 12 September 2025, aged 89.
Born on 9 October 1935, Don was a pillar of our club community for many decades. His leadership, generosity, and unwavering dedication left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. Don served as Captain of the Men’s Committee for eight years and as Club President for six, guiding the club through important chapters of growth and camaraderie. In recognition of his outstanding service and lifelong commitment, Don was awarded Life Membership in 2004—an honour he wore with pride.
His presence around the club—whether on the course, in the clubhouse—was always marked by grace and good humour.
Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences go out to his beloved partner Ailsa (Tim), and his children Sally and Guy, as they navigate this time of loss. The family will hold a private cremation.
Don’s legacy will live on in the stories we share, the friendships he fostered, and the spirit of the club he helped shape. He will be deeply missed, but fondly remembered.
