Ballina Golf & Sports Club recently concluded its 2025 Club Championships, marking a milestone in the club’s commitment to inclusivity and member engagement. This year’s event was shaped by the principles of Golf Australia’s Vision 2025, with a format designed to reflect the evolving needs of a diverse membership.
The introduction of a multiday competition structure allowed players to complete rounds across both weekend and midweek dates, offering greater flexibility for those balancing work, study, or family responsibilities. Participation across all grades — including increased representation from women and younger members — highlighted the success of this approach.
The format also ensured equal access to tee times, prizes, and championship titles, reinforcing the club’s dedication to fair and inclusive competition. A mix of gross and nett scoring provided recognition for both elite performers and those progressing in their golfing journey, while the seeded final round added a competitive edge and spectator appeal.
This year’s championships demonstrated that tradition and innovation can coexist — and that thoughtful changes to format and scheduling can enhance both participation and member satisfaction.
As part of its commitment to continuous improvement, the club is now inviting members to complete a post-event survey. The feedback gathered will help shape future championships and ensure they continue to reflect the values and preferences of the Ballina golfing community.
Members can access the survey below. All responses are confidential and will play a vital role in planning for 2026 and beyond.
