Ballina Golf & Sports Club has witnessed another thrilling edition of the Men’s Matchplay Championship, culminating in an outstanding final where Jack Davy emerged victorious, securing the title with grit, consistency, and skill.
From the outset, Davy stamped his authority on the competition, advancing past Chris Rose and then overcoming a strong challenge from Scott Williams. His semi-final match against David Evans was a display of strategic precision, setting up a blockbuster final against Kyle Underwood.
Underwood, on the other hand, had a spectacular run on his side of the draw. He edged out Rhett Patrick, then beat Lee Robb, and fought off Ray Sargent in a tough semi-final to earn his place in the final showdown.
The final match saw two in-form players go head-to-head, but it was Jack Davy who held firm under pressure, claiming a well-deserved victory and the title of 2025 Men’s Matchplay Champion.
