Golf Course Masterplan Update – July 2025

As we move through winter, we’re excited to share the latest progress on our golf course masterplan improvements. Despite a few curveballs from Mother Nature, we’re hitting some key milestones and edging closer to unveiling new and enhanced playing experiences for our members.

9th Hole – Set to Open 28th July

The long-awaited return of the 9th hole is just around the corner! While the green has been growing in since late February, the aftermath of the cyclone, persistent wet weather, and cooler conditions have stretched out the timeline. That said, the surface is now looking fantastic — with just a few final plugs and dustings to go, we’re confident members will be impressed when it comes into play.

The 9th bunker has already proven its worth, passing its first major weather test with flying colours. After over 200mm of rain last week, the Kustombind structure held firm, requiring no repairs — a great early win.

In the lead-up to the 28th, we’ll be:

  • Pouring a new concrete path at the 9th tee precinct
  • Completing landscaping and drainage
  • Laying the final turf around the tee area

New 1st Green – Construction Begins 28th July

With the 9th hole back in action, we’ll be breaking ground on the new 1st green. While it will remain in a similar location, the new green will sit approximately one metre lower and expand to 503m² — around 70m² larger than the current surface. It will feature a gentle back-to-front slope and greenside bunkers on both sides, while the front bunker will be removed to improve playability.

During this time, we’ll also be reviewing drainage on the 1st fairway, particularly from 70 metres out, to ensure long-term performance.

19th Hole – Tracking for Mid-August

The 19th green is a few weeks behind the 9th due to cyclone-related setbacks and a grub attack during grow-in. We’re now aiming for a mid-August opening, which will allow us to shift focus to the 14th green shortly after.

14th Green – Resurfacing to Follow

Once major shaping on the 1st green wraps up (expected mid to late August), we’ll begin resurfacing the 14th green. While the layout will remain largely unchanged, we’ll be slightly extending the green to the right to enhance the playing area.

Practice Nets – Nearing Completion

Members may have noticed the ongoing upgrade to the practice nets. Weather and contractor scheduling have caused some delays, but we’re now on track for completion by 11th July.

Carpark Repairs – Week of 28th July

We’ve also been working behind the scenes to address the wear and tear in the carpark. Repairs are scheduled to begin the week of 28th July, and we’ll also be surfacing a new designated parking area for members’ personal carts on the eastern side of the clubhouse near the locker rooms.

A heartfelt thank you to all our members for your patience and support during this exciting phase of course improvements. And a special shoutout to our incredible team — they’ve been expertly juggling the demands of construction while continuing to maintain the course to a high standard. Their dedication is what keeps everything moving forward.

Kind Regards
